When we first sat down to meet Joanna I instantly got a sense of how awesome she was: open, honest, and tells it like it is. When we met Kelly, we could see how perfect those two were together. They joke with each other constantly and always seem to be having fun while being so in love! We are so honored to have been able to take their engagement photos and to be shooting their upcoming wedding this summer! For their engagement session, we headed to Lakeview Park right on Lake Erie west of Cleveland, and it was a truly gorgeous day to be outdoors!
I was totally digging the black and white when I was editing their session. Something about how in love these two are just paired so perfectly with the timelessness of black and white photos. I should also mention, you would think that these two are in front of the camera all the time. Totally natural, were already putting themselves into great poses, etc. which made for a really great evening!
After we spent some time at Lakeview Park, I asked these two a simple question: do you guys trust me? Thankfully, they said yes, which meant we went on a caravan adventure to this random building I spotted on the way to the park. Something about the bright green wall just made me super excited and their clothes worked perfectly to “pop” right off of it!
Like I said, I really loved the black and white!
And this last image of the day is one of my favorite images from the whole set. Kelly just surprise kissed Joanna and it was such a sweet moment – I’m glad that I had my camera ready to go to capture it. You can see by her arm and expression she wasn’t expecting it, which made it all the better.
Oh, and who doesn’t love being photobombed by Jim? I remember going to take a photo of Joanna & Kelly and saying something like “and now there’s a Jim in the photo” or something similar and it gave us all a good laugh.
I’m so happy to be able to share this session and I’m even happier to look forward to their upcoming wedding this summer!
