There is just something incredible about being able to photograph a newborn baby, and I had no idea that would be the case. My photographic focus is mainly couples, engagements, and weddings here in Cleveland but I’m so glad to have my business be something that can ‘stay in the family’ and I can continue to watch couples grow from their wedding day to their newly born kiddos. Last week I was beyond lucky enough to get to photograph Baby Parker James after having shot the maternity session for his parents back this summer. (to check out that session, click here!)
Patrick and Shelley are good friends of mine & Jim’s and it is such an incredible blessing to be able to see their family grow from two to three with this adorable baby boy.
Since newborns are not my usual “thing” I went into this telling both Patrick and Shelley that they would be playing a part in helping me pose little Parker and get things all situated to make sure that he’s comfortable and well taken care of, and I’m so glad that they had some amazing ideas! Another thing that makes me glad? Parker was so well behaved and generally just hung out the entire time, he even did some model poses for us and threw his best “magnum” and “blue steel” my way!
I also let the new parents know that while the focus of the shoot is the new baby, I wanted to create images showcasing their new family as a whole. For Patrick & Shelley, I wanted them to be able to look back at these images and see the loving looks that they had between themselves and Parker, as well as to see the happiness that was radiating from their home.
Also, baby toes. Like, all the features on a newborn are so darn TINY and adorable!
Not having any children, it’s amazing to see such love between new parents and their child. It makes my heart feel so full and happy.
Honestly, I am just so thrilled that I was able to capture these images for them. So much love. So much happiness.
I am so looking forward to watching this family grow. Both Patrick and Shelley are such incredible people that I am absolutely certain that baby Parker is going to grow up being one of the most amazing guys there are. Couples with baby girls – get them in line for this little guy now!
