When Kayla told me that she wanted to head to Case Western for her engagement session with Stephen I was excited. When I found out that they had both met there and it was extra special to them because it’s where their relationship started and flourished, well, I was just elated. Their session was just, ah, it was just so great. Plus, they had some super cute DIY elements that made their photos that much more meaningful to them (& made it that much more fun for us!).
As we carried on through their session it was really cool for them to get to see Case Western again: these two both live out of state now while in grad school. Neither Jim nor myself really spent much time around Case so it was cool to get sort of a private tour! Kayla knew so much about the campus and surrounding areas and was giving us tons of facts and such which only makes sense because back when she was in undergrad she gave the campus tours!
I seriously just love being a Cleveland wedding photographer. Getting to hang out with awesome couples, checking out great spaces around Cleveland, what more could be better? Wade Lagoon was looking awfully charming during our session and the sunset, so of course we had to take advantage!
We couldn’t have possibly gotten any luckier with this session and the weather, especially since we really only had one chance to get it since they had come into town only for the weekend. The sunset was simply magical and I’m so happy that we got an opportunity to use it to our advantage.
This next shot, just, wow. Jim set it up from the side while I was taking some closer photos of Kayla & Stephen and I just love it. All of our galleries and blog posts are a dual effort but I feel that I need to specifically call Jim out on this one because he came through with a killer shot!
As the session continued all around we found so many cool areas to shoot near. We’ve been to University Circle and Case Western a few times now but I feel that every time we go back we find somewhere new and awesome! Cleveland engagement sessions give us a good amount of time with our couples and let us not only stay relaxed but to get to know our couples a little better! There were a couple times that Kayla and I were chatting away, totally oblivious to the fact that Jim had set something up or we were ready to move on – whoops, but totally worth it!
We then made our way to one of the large Case signs because they wanted to do a little something showing where they’ve been, to where they are now, which I thought was so so cool! Oh yeah, did we mention that she’s doing awesome things at Iowa? And Stephen is continuing school at Harvard? Yeah – they’re both pretty freaking awesome!
You two, seriously, you’re both so awesome! I cannot wait for your wedding next year – it’s going to be so amazing!
