You know when you meet someone and you instantly know that they are pretty awesome? That’s how we felt at our first meeting with Erin & Scott (& Scott’s adorable daughter!) back last year. What was even better? When they asked us to be the photographers at their wedding. The day started off so perfectly with Erin & her girls getting ready – they had some awesome music, mimosas in custom cups made by the MOH (also named Erin!), and lots of laughs.
Time flew by that morning, and before anyone knew it, Erin was walking down the aisle with her father.
Their ceremony was held at the beyond gorgeous St. Patrick’s church in Ohio City, and it allowed for the most stunning of photos during their ceremony.
And then, after a wonderful ceremony complete with a few laughs…
…they were pronounced husband and wife!
We left the area and headed straight to downtown Cleveland for some photos with both Erin & Scott and their bridal party! Now, it’s pretty customary that the bride plans the majority of the wedding from the colors to the venues to the details, etc., so when Scott mentioned that he’d love to be able to get some photos near Jacob’s Field (…Progressive Field, whatever) we kept that in our minds and hoped that with the plans of the day we’d be able to get him there. Well, as fate would have it, going to that area fit in perfectly with the other plans and we made it happen! Although, it seems that it was the ladies who really brought it once we got there! I mean, HELLO, they are all. so. stunning. Not even fair.
Of course, we made some time for the boys to get in some photos as well.
From there, we went straight to Erin’s one definite request: the Playhouse Square chandelier. I mean, how could you not want that gorgeous, sparkly chandelier in your wedding photos?
Right near there, we put both Scott and Erin in her veil. Yes, we took her veil and put it over both of their heads. Whenever we do this, most guys don’t really know how to react, and luckily for us, Scott’s reaction was to laugh and it made some photographic magic!
But honestly, these two? Man, they looked so perfect on their wedding day. I feel so honored that both Jim and myself are Cleveland wedding photographers, we get to see amazing couples looking their absolute best as they have a celebration of their love together. Pretty perfect gig, if you ask me!
Oh, and we didn’t forget about the guys. After we got some great photos of them being very regal and classy, we then made sure to get a few shots of them being themselves which meant tackling Scott on Cleveland city sidewalk. No big deal, really. (:
With that, it was time to head to the reception where Erin & Scott made their big entrance into the hall!
As the night went on, we got to take a few opportunities to grab some extra detail shots, which resulted in two of my new most favorite photos of their rings and Erin’s bouquet. I love me some time to play with the light and score extra perfect shots! One of the main benefits to me as 1/2 of a two person team is that during the reception I can take some time to do things the right way and really show off the details that have been hand chosen by the bride & groom, and I don’t have to worry about missing a single moment on the dance floor because Jim is already out there, capturing all the dancing craziness as it happens! This is why two photographers are SO necessary for wedding coverage – it’s the perfect situation because while yes, we could shoot separately, having that other person there (especially during the reception) lets us be extra creative and take our time making super awesome things happen in photographs! Huzzah!
So as the night went on it was very easily a night to remember for all of their guests.
With some awesome dance moves…
…a serenade (or two) by the groom’s brother who was killing it with the mic…
…and some hilariously awesome photobombers…
…Erin & Scott’s wedding came to a close.
You guys are amazing and we are still beyond thrilled that we got to spend the day with you! We wish you both so so much love and happiness in the future! Xoxo!
