Rachel and Steve are seriously some of the coolest people around. It took them exactly zero seconds to be normal in front of the camera and just enjoy hanging with each other. Oh, and their two adorable pups! Rachel got out of the car, said ‘hi’ and basically squealed that the dogs had bow ties immediately! And sure enough, they did, and it was an adorable way to start their engagement session in Strongsville!
Now, I should also mention that I met Rachel in high school, so I already knew this session was going to be pretty easy, and pretty amazing. This girl has such an eye for detail and has such an awesome vision for her Hale Farm wedding next year (eeeee! love Hale Farm!) that it wasn’t possible for the engagement session to be any less than awesome.
After we left Bonnie Park, we ventured over to some super random areas around Strongsville and it was perfect. See, Jim and I had met Rachel a couple weeks before to chat about details and whatnot, which resulted in us driving our cars like a caravan to a few places around the area to scout around because we weren’t 100% sure what was there. So worth it. We’re talking these areas were randomly on the side of back roads that you’d never expect, which makes their session all the more personal to them, and special because it’s unlike anyone else’s. Seriously, being a Cleveland wedding photographer is so awesome for this reason: there are SO MANY unique and different places in Cleveland and its surrounding suburbs that we get to explore, so we have new areas all the time!
Rachel and Steve were so seamless together, it was such a joy to be able to capture. They made each other laugh constantly and just wandered from place to place with our direction, usually holding hands and being straight up adorable.
Once we got out in front of this random barn, things got real. The sky was amazing, Rachel had brought some super cute props, and the lighting, everything, was just wonderful. Such an awesome evening!

Steve was so great, and so trusting, in this session. There are a few guys we get that are all “ugh, photos, gross” but he was such a trooper though the whole thing. “Hey Steve, can you frolic for me through this field? Yeah? Great!” Yes. I asked a dude to frolic. And he did it. Ah, the power of promising good photos, haha! But seriously, it was so worth it!
We ended the evening with a pretty sweet sky as the sun was setting, and all was right in the world. Steve, Rachel, you guys are AMAZING. We can’t wait until your wedding (and to hang out, obviously, because you guys are awesome!)
