When I first met with Jennifer & Dave, one of the first things they brought up to me was asking if we would be willing to travel up to Lakeside, Ohio (near Marblehead) for their engagement session. The answer, of course, was a ‘heck yes’ and a short time later that’s exactly what we all did! See, Jennifer’s family has an adorable house in Lakeside in a community that is a quiet and quaint little place right on the waters of Lake Erie. What Jim and I didn’t know though, was that this community has a pathway along the water, lots of pretty trees and benches, and a pier that were all just dying to have an engagement session shot there!
I mean, seriously, look how gorgeous this day was, it was unreal! Next up, we went to the exact place where Dave proposed to Jennifer – this adorable gazebo! I thought it was so sweet that for their engagement photos they wanted to travel to a place that has so much meaning to them as a couple!
And I forgot to mention, when we all met up I noticed they had a bag with something in it, clearly a prop, but I had NO idea that they were these adorable pumpkins! You can’t ask for a more ‘fall’ engagement session now, it was so perfect!
This next photo is one of my favorites – it may or may not have involved Jim climbing a tree to get it! Sometimes we’re not your average Cleveland wedding photographers, because you’ll find us in trees and such, but we do whatever it takes to get a fun and unique shot!
After a quick change, we were headed towards the pier! We had such a beautiful day for this session, it was unreal. The sun was giving the best golden tones I’ve seen in a while and we were more than happy to shoot while it was doing so!
Lakeside is such a cute area, it made me a little jealous that these two get to spend their summers up there whenever they want! I then found out, after this session, I have another friend who’s family has a house up there as well! So unfair! You guys are all super lucky, I would love to have a life of strolling around the cute town, heading to the dock, and soaking up all those gorgeous summer sunsets!
The sun then set and it was time to call it a night! But seriously, Jennifer & Dave, we are SO excited for your October wedding next year! Looking back at this session again and again makes me so excited for your wedding during the same time of year! We can’t wait! (:
