If you’ve read our blog before, you will remember Bethany & Steven from their super awesome engagement session here! Their wedding was 10x more awesome, which I didn’t even think was possible based on how fun their engagement session was! These two are ultra fun and outgoing, and their wedding was a perfect representation of that!
Bethany was super hands-on and DIY with all of her wedding details, even customizing her wedding day TOMS shoes!
Their ceremony and reception were both held at Williams on the Lake in Medina, Ohio and their outdoor ceremony space was amazing. I love being a Cleveland wedding photographer simply to see all of the amazing venues our city and suburbs have to offer, and this one was truly awesome!
At their ceremony, their dog Layla was IN the wedding, and it was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen! She came down the aisle and went right to Steven and jumped right up on him, and it was absolutely adorable!
At the end of their ceremony, Bethany had laid out baskets filled with flower petals for the guests to throw as they came back down the aisle as husband and wife, and it turned out to be perfect! It may have taken the guests a little while to figure it out, as there were still some petals left for the whole bridal party, but I love this image of them so much!
After the ceremony it was time for the bridal party to head out for some fun photos! Bethany and Steven chose Medina Square which was great since it was close by and we only had about a half hour to get all the photos done! Oh, and did I mention that they all had fun sunglasses and blow up guitars? No? Well they did, and we have awesome proof!
Soon after, it was time to spend some time with both Bethany & Steven alone – which I don’t think they had been alone for the entire day until this point!
Wearing a ring is a little weird at first if you’re not used to it, as clearly demonstrated by Steven’s face in this photo, haha!
Very quickly after, it was time to head back and to get the reception started! Now, let me tell you, when I say they had a lot of surprises and fun things planned for their guests, that may be an understatement. The first thing that guests weren’t aware of was their first dance. Sure, everyone knew they were having one, but what they didn’t know is that they choreographed it and it went from a slow first dance song to techno! Everyone loved it, us included, and it was just so “them”! It also helps that Bethany is a lifetime dancer and now dance teacher, so everything was perfect!
Now, if you’re a guest, you probably assume that it was awesome, but that’s it. If you assumed that, you would be wrong. Bethany then had a choreographed dance with her father which was slow at first and then went into a whole number that was just so adorable! They even paid tribute to one of the dances that they had done together when Bethany was a little kid and her dad came on stage for a father/daughter dance at one of her recitals!
But wait, there’s more! They then had a FLASH MOB! Yes, you read that correctly! Being a dance teacher, Bethany has great relationships with all of her dancers, so many were in attendance to her wedding. She coordinated with them and the bridal party for a flash mob that took over the reception, and it was epic!
The party just continued from there and their whole reception became a huge dance party for them and their guests!
The night ended with the blow up guitars, some awesome dance moves, and everyone having a blast. I can safely say that their wedding was truly incredible and I am so excited to have been able to capture it, and to be able to share it with you today!
Seriously, guys, your wedding rocked. I would say “I hope you guys had fun and loved every second” but it is VERY apparent to us that you did just that! xoxo!
