Not only did Felicia and Michael rock their engagement session, but this session was actually filmed by the awesome crew, Poly Design Studio out of Chicago, for our promo video. When these two agreed to have not only two cameras following them around, but four, I was super excited and could tell that some serious photographic magic was about to happen – and I was right!
Oh, did I forget to mention that it was like, 40* outside? And at one point it HAILED on us? You would never guess it by these two and how they were all smiles together, but it was a pretty chilly day. We made sure to take some photos of them in their jackets because what I also forgot to mention is that Michael is from Florida. So while he was putting on a brave face and was enjoying some snuggle time with Felicia, I’m pretty sure internally he was cursing us for this whole ordeal! Sorry Michael but IT WAS WORTH IT! 😀
Once the weather got especially, um, lovely, we decided to take a little break and grab some beers at one of the great Ohio City bars. I mean, it was the least we could do to say “sorry this weather is awful but we really like you guys and hey I bet a beer would warm you up!” So, beers it was. And thankfully the weather cleared up a bit (we even caught a glimpse of blue sky!) so we made our way to the back patio of that same bar and continued on with the session. Actually, this little side step to this bar area turned out to be super perfect and I’m so happy we went that direction!
Oh and when it got chilly I just made with my go to moves for them: dancing it out and snuggling up. Both seemed to work pretty well! 😉
We wandered around a bit more of Ohio City for a few more shots with both these two, and our entourage for the day and then it was finally time for them to get out of the cold…
…until the next day when we did it all over again! 😀 We wanted these two to be able to have a normal engagement session too, and a chance to bring their doggies into the photos, so we did a two-parter engagement session with them! So much fun! I was beyond excited when we got to start the day at their new house with their two dogs, Mack & Marlin. Although, wrangling dogs is never quite easy.
It’s also not easy when one of your dogs decides he wants to either A. have the photo to himself or B. decides he doesn’t want to be a part of the group photo at all. This photo of everyone still cracks me up every time I look at it and it’s definitely one of my favorites. “Nope, guys, I refuse to come sit by you for this photo, but I’ll sit very nicely over here, thanks”. (Yes, I just narrated for a dog and no, I’m not ashamed. Welcome to my life.)
After a few more rounds of fetch for these two, we then turned the session on to just Felicia & Michael once more, all around their yard!
We then ended their session at a park that’s super close by their house, which is one of my favorite things. Being a Cleveland wedding photographer there are so many areas that I could suggest to couples for their engagement session, wedding photos, etc. but it just makes the session so much more personal and meaningful when the couple picks somewhere that they frequent and like to go to, together. Love. It.
You guys are amazing. I’m not quite sure how many times I’ve said that but I’m sure it’s a lot.. and I don’t intend on stopping anytime soon. We had so so much fun with you guys and are still super happy that you agreed to come on our little video adventure with us – we can’t wait to be a part of your wedding day, it’s going to be here before we know it! Xoxo!
