Katie and Allan. Where do I even begin with these two? It took me hmmm about .5 seconds before I realized that these two were awesome. I then later found out that Katie is a cat person and so I multiplied that awesomeness by about 3 million because hey, us crazy cat ladies gotta stick together, right? 😀 Jim and I were both super excited to get to travel down to Columbus late last year to photograph their engagement session and it was so much fun. We got lucky with nature and the park that Katie chose could have either had all the leaves gone already, or it was going to be perfect. Well, you guessed it, it was PERFECT! It looked like fall and it was just wonderful.
The location of this fab park was Inniswood Park which was just so cute. It was tucked away on its own and provided a ton a neat little areas that we could use to our advantage. We also came into contact with another photographer and his “model” doing some very, um, hilarious poses. I wish I had snuck some photos of what was going on… but I’ll leave that as a little laugh for just Jim, myself, Katie, & Allan. 😀
This little area that was covered in ivy was probably my favorite thing we’ve stumbled upon yet. IT was just so perfect and with Katie’s dress color it was the perfect complement.
We then found this little circle opening and I just had to put them in there, I mean I just HAD to! (:
Oh, and Jim had to as well! I love how he decided to play with the light a little bit with this shot! It still blows my mind how talented he is and how well our styles work to compliment each other.
We then had a quick outfit change and took some more photos around the park – complete with an adorable prop that Katie’s sister made! I love a good DIY prop!
Once we finished up at the park, we headed to one of my favorite parts of Columbus – the Short North! I was super pumped that these two loved the idea of doing both the rural setting at the park as well as the more urban setting of a great downtown Columbus area, I think having that diversity for your engagement session is awesome because it’s such a calm, relaxed time – so why not take advantage of all the areas and see what you love most? Plus, once we switched areas Katie brought out these awesome letters to use as well for their initials as well as her new last name! So cute.
These two made my heart smile. Well, until they changed into Steelers jerseys and then my inner Browns fan came out in a fit of rage. HA – kidding! Despite the team, I super loved that these two decided to change it up in their session and pledge allegiance to the team they both love and enjoy watching together. Also at this time, the Browns were ahead of the Steelers in the division, so it was kinda nice to rub it in their faces a tiny bit. I mean, we all know how that worked out for us in the end but sheesh, we had our moment, okay? (:
And then, right at the end of our session, we were blessed with one of the most awesome sunsets I’ve seen in a LONG time! This image has really minimal edits to the sky, because it was literally THAT awesome! Katie and Allan – you guys are super awesome and we had SO much fun with you on this session! We are counting down the days to your wedding this year! Woo woo!
